He's here!
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on
his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 NIV
I used this Bible verse 2 weeks ago; but in the context of waiting for a baby. This time, He’s here!
All of our waiting and preparations have finally come to an end. It is time for the big celebration!
I know that in our lives following Jesus, we don’t have to save our celebrations for Christmas Day. But there is something special about having a day and a season to mark the moment.
Until I post again in January, I’ll be reflecting on all that’s happened in 2023. I’ll try to stay off my phone and maybe let go of the true crime podcasts for a bit (Stephen will be glad of that).
More than anything, I’ll try to say “yes” to the kids more: when they ask for me to play, to make cookies, to sit on the couch, to make pancakes, to dance, or to build something new.
For just a few days I’ll try to take a break from preparing for the next thing and just be.
In the few quiet moments we have at our house, which probably won’t be many, I hope to take account of all the ways God has provided for us. I find it helpful to write it out. In 2023, I think I have become more acquainted with Jesus as my Wonderful Counselor. I look forward to knowing Him in knew ways next year. And I look forward to the same for you.
To each of you, my friends, I pray blessings this Christmas and New Year!
The girls around the tree, December 2020.
