God tells us that loving our neighbors is a big deal. I’ve found with kids involved, it can be a whole lot more fun, too! The summer they were 3, we picked flowers from the yard on Sunday mornings and gave them to ladies at church. For several years we hosted “aunt’s parties” with 4 of their great great aunts.” When I felt up for the extra mess, I had them paint and either turned the paintings into cards, or just shoved them into an envelope and sent them on. Lately, I’ve been looking at pictures from when the kids were smaller, and when I see someone I text the picture to them!
Loving others doesn’t have to be complicated. It doesn’t have to take a lot of time. You can pick up the phone and make someone smile today with a call or text message.
